Achievements

Academic results have always been a morale booster as the yardstick to assess the performance of any educational institution. The results of AISSE and AISSCE conducted in March 2016 made the Vidyalaya very distinguished. In the recently published list of India’s Top ten Government Boarding schools by the renowned educational magazine Education World, JNV, Neriamangalam bagged the sixth position among all Government Boarding schools of India. The various parameters taken into account for arriving at the ranking are; Teacher welfare & development, Competence of faculty, Academic reputation, Co-curricular education, Sports education, Life skills education & conflict management, Individual attention to students, Leadership/Management quality, Safety & hygiene, Infrastructure provision, Internationalism, Pastoral care, Value for money, Community service and CBSE Exam Results.


The project of Master.Ananthavishnu .S U’s “Hydrogen Engine” was selected as one of best top ten projects in the popular science contest ‘I am Kalam’ conducted by Mathrubhumi and SRM University. In the three level selection process, the Zonal level competition was held at Vimala College, Thrissur. Out of 51 projects presented there, 25 projects were shortlisted for the final level. The final level selection process was conducted at Gokulam Convention Centre. Out 75 projects, 10 projects were shortlisted and Master.Ananthavishnu’s “Hydrogen Engine” figured in the final list. Dr.K Radhakrishnan, the former chairman of ISRO was the chief guest at the Grand Finale. The participants had a rare opportunity to interact with the eminent scientist and our budding scientist Master.Ananthavishnu was also fortunate to interact with Dr.Radhakrishnan.


Master.Basil Raju of Class VIII and Mas.Basil P Raiju of class VII bagged the championship in the district level Deshabimani Akshra Muttam Quiz Competition and were honoured with Rs.10,000 cash award. Further they participated at State Level competition representing Ernakulum district and secured 5th position.


Kumari.Swetha Biju and Kumari.Vinita.M of class IX were nominated by the Honourable Member of Parliament Shri. Innocent from his Lok Sabha constituency to participate in the second India International Science festival held at New Delhi from 7th to 11th Dec 2016.


It was a crowning moment for the school when the then Principal, Mr. V.S Joseph, was honoured with the National Teacher Award on 5th September 2005
